They say all good things come to those who wait and we at Ideal Surreal towers have being waiting a whole year to announce a music extravaganza we'd originally scheduled for 2020.

Its our first showcase for over 12 months...

Our first of T21...

and the first of a three day 'The Scene Strikes Back' weekend...

We are delighted to present...

Gaffa Tape Sandy, the fantastic Bury St Edmunds/Brighton trio - who play a brand of giddily frantic, high-octane rock ‘n’ roll - are visiting The Waterfront on Thursday 8th July for the first of a live show triple.

Formed in 2015 by three friends with a desire to do something loud and exciting, Gaffa Tape Sandy’s popularity quickly escalated thanks to a series of incendiary live shows and a seemingly endless succession of instantly memorable garage-punk/rock tunes.

Their debut EP ‘Spring Killing’ lead to them performing at Glastonbury Festival 2017, with their next single ‘Beehive’ gaining much support including Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 Tip Of The Week, before being included in NME’s 100 Essential Acts for 2018.

The past two years have seen them performing all of the UK festival circuit, from Live At Leeds & Liverpool Soundcity, to Latitude & The Great Escape Festival, as well as a number of international festivals across Iceland & Germany.

Supporting are Damp Matches, a new young band who have recently sprung from our Fine City streets. They describe themselves as brash hard-hitting alt-rockers, but with a little splash of hip hop. We call them your new favourite band.

Opening are fellow Norwich newcomers Lady Di, who are making their Ideal Surreal debut. The Norwich trio promise a set of dumb-ass slacker rock, drunk summer nights, chaotic noise and cherry flavoured lip balm. Think Dinosaur Junior mixed with The Breeders, and a splash of Sonic Youth.

The Waterfront Studio, Thursday 8th July. Doors 19:30 fin. Entry £10ADV STBF
